Any relationship begins with us

When we feel good ourselves, there is no need to be overly critical or defensive, because we no longer feel threatened by others.

All relationships begin with some degree of positive warmth and feeling. The positive feeling is the reason the relationship went forward in the first place. The feeling was there because the people involved weren’t thinking critically about each other! If you don’t focus your attention on the negative aspects of a person, your natural feelings of love and respect are able to come forth.

When you feel warmly toward another you overlook your differences to a large extent. When you do have differences to work out, you do so calmly, from a place of wisdom.

We don’t have to argue or to be upset over our differences.

Our positive feeling becomes more important than our opinions. As our appreciation of happiness in a relationship increases, we take notice of the things that tend to take us away from this feeling. One major catalyst taking us away is to be right.

Where is it coming from

The need to be right stems from an unhealthy relationship to our own thoughts.

Everyone I know who has put positive feelings above being right on their priority list has come to see that differences in opinion will take care of themselves. A more positive feeling state allows us to see other positions, to listen with a finer ear; and to express our own beliefs in a more compassionate way. Using energy to justify or the need to be right will not get you anywhere. Life is full of experiences that teach us many things.

We might even learn something.

Even though we might think that we know everything no one knows everything about life aka never stop learning. Being happy gives you the opportunity to learn from life instead of shutting down by having to be right.

This is one of the biggest lessons that I learned in life. It’s just not worth it to fight and always the need to be right. Consequently, I always rather be happy than right. It is one of the gifts that will change your life. It allows us the luxury of not caring so much if it turns out that we can’t agree.

Jede Beziehung beginnt mit uns

Wenn wir uns selbst gut fühlen, müssen wir nicht übermäßig kritisch oder defensiv sein, weil wir uns nicht von anderen bedroht fühlen.

Alle Beziehungen beginnen mit positiven Gefühlen gegenüber dem anderen. Dieses positive Gefühl ist auch der Grund dafür, dass die Beziehung überhaupt erst weiterging. Die positiven Gefühle für einander waren da, weil die Beteiligten nicht kritisch übereinander nachdachten.

Wenn du deine Aufmerksamkeit nicht auf die negativen Aspekte einer Person richtest, ist es viel leichter eine glückliche Beziehung zu führen.

Wenn man gegenüber dem anderen positive Gefühlen hat, ist es einfacher über die Differenzen hinweg zu schauen. Wir müssen uns nicht über unsere Differenzen streiten oder aufregen. Und wenn es doch zur Auseinandersetzung kommt, machen wir es in einer ruhigen Art und mit Weisheit.

Unser positives Gefühl wird wichtiger als Recht zu haben. Wenn wir das Glück unserer Beziehung wertschätzen, erkennen wir die Dinge, die uns von dem guten Gefühl zueinander abbringen. Ein wichtiger Katalysator hierfür ist es, Recht haben zu müssen.

Das Bedürfnis immer Recht haben zu müssen, kommt von unseren eigenen Unsicherheiten und ist ein Resultat unserer ungesunden Beziehung zu unseren eigenen Gedanken.

Und oftmals ist es so, dass Meinungsverschiedenheiten für sich selbst sorgen und meist aus der Welt verschwinden.

Ein positiver Gefühlszustand ermöglicht es uns, andere Meinungen zu sehen. Wenn du deine Energie verwendest, um dich zu rechtfertigen oder um immer recht haben zu müssen, kommst du nicht weiter. Oftmals bleibt man dann auf einer Stelle stehen.

Das Leben ist voller Erfahrungen, die uns viele Dinge lehren. Auch wenn wir denken, dass wir alles besser wissen, niemand weiß alles. Glücklich zu sein, gibt dir die Möglichkeit aus dem Leben zu lernen, anstatt dich davor zu verschließen, indem du immer Recht haben musst.

Früher wollte ich auch immer Recht haben, schätze das ist oftmals in unserer Natur…Aber man lernt nie aus und ich bin so dankbar auch darüber gelernt zu haben. Denn mein Leben hat diese neue Einstellung „lieber glücklich sein als Recht zu haben“ sehr positiv verändert.

Es ist eins der größten Geschenke, das du dir selbst machen kannst. Diese Weisheit gibt uns den Luxus uns nicht so sehr darum zu kümmern Recht zu haben.
